
Nigel Bickerstaff - Owner and Head Instructor
Nigel has been a Motorcycle Instructor since 1994 and learned my trade the proper way through serving an apprenticeship so to speak. CBT1 and DAS qualified through Cardington Assessment. He is constantly looking for ways to improve both riding and instructing skills. Qualified in 2005 as a Diamond Advanced Riding Instructor and Examiner and holds a Certificate of Professional Competence for the Road Transport Industry. Nigel is qualified to teach CBT, CBT Plus, DAS, Bike Plus and Advanced to Diamond standard.

Heather Bickerstaff - Office Manager / Trainee Instructor
Heather is a key member of the team at ATB Training in Sheffield, bringing a friendly and professional approach to everything she does. Norman - Maintenance, Mechanics and Caretaker
Norman is the man who keeps the wheels turning, literally and figuratively, at ATB. As our go-to for maintenance, mechanics, and general caretaking, he makes sure the bikes are in top condition, the site stays safe and tidy, and everything runs smoothly day to day. Always friendly and full of character, Norman is rarely seen without his trusty sidekick Coco, Together, they’re a much-loved and essential part of the ATB family.

John Allen - Senior Instructor
John is one of ATB Rider Training’s most experienced instructors, bringing years of riding expertise and a calm, supportive approach to every lesson. A former Police Officer from the motorcycle wing, John offers a depth of real-world experience that adds an extra level of insight to his training. Known for his patient teaching style and in-depth knowledge of road safety, John specialises in preparing new riders for their CBT and full motorcycle licence tests. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to advance your skills, John’s clear instruction and practical tips will help you ride with confidence.

Dan Hoare - CBT Instructor
Dan Joined ATB in 2022 as a part time CBT Instructor, and then never left. Providing CBT Training along with pre-course training and 125cc road rides. He makes the learning process fun but ensures that you understand the very serious nature of the training required to develop the skills necessary to ride a motorcycle well.

Les Proctor - CBT Instructor
Les Proctor joined the ATB Rider Training team in Sheffield with a deep passion for motorcycles and a commitment to rider safety. After dedicating this year to intensive training, Les is now a Down Trained Instructor, bringing fresh energy, focus, and enthusiasm to every CBT session. His approachable style and love for two wheels make him a great fit for new riders starting their journey.

Dave Osbourne - Trainee Instructor
Dave is training to become a fully qualified motorcycle instructor and brings a unique blend of experience to the role. With a background as both a college tutor and licensed doorman, he combines calm authority with excellent communication skills, perfect for guiding new riders. His passion for motorbikes, paired with a natural ability to teach and support others, makes him a great fit for the ATB team.
