{"id":154,"date":"2015-11-07T10:08:04","date_gmt":"2015-11-07T10:08:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/motorbiketrainingyorkshire.co.uk\/atbtraining\/?page_id=154"},"modified":"2025-08-24T17:31:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T17:31:10","slug":"a1-motorbike-license","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/motorbiketrainingyorkshire.co.uk\/atbtraining\/courses\/a1-motorbike-license\/","title":{"rendered":"A1 Licence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section-full-width section-light-bg\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;\" id=\"whatdoineedtodotogetmy125cca1smallmotorcyclelicence\"><div class=\"section-boxed\" style=\"color:#373737;\"><h2 class=\"section-title\" style=\"color:#252525;\">What do I need to do to get my 125cc (A1 small motorcycle) licence?<\/h2><p>Once you have reached 17 years you will need to get your provisional driving licence (which must include provisional category A).<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_7\">\n<li>If you already have a moped licence then you will already have automatic entitlement to your provisional.<\/li>\n<li>If you already have a driving licence you should automatically have provisional motorcycle entitlement (category A your instructor will check this for you).<\/li>\n<li>If you have neither of the above then you will need to get a provisional motorcycle licence application form from the Post Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The next step is a complete a\u00a0Compulsory Basic Training Course.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have completed this course you will then be entitled to ride on the public roads as a learner motorcyclist. Your bike must display L plates and you cannot ride with a passenger or use the Motorways.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next is the\u00a0Theory Test.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have passed your moped test since July 1996 or hold a full licence for another category of motorcycle then you may not need to take this theory test.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/driving-theory-test\/overview\">BOOK YOUR THEORY TEST HERE<\/a><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Now the Practical Test.<\/h2>\n<p>Once you have completed or qualified for all of the above it will be time to take your Practical Test.
